Yahoo! RSS beta

My Yahoo! RSS

Things are on the up and up for RSS this year. Yahoo! have launched an RSS feature in their My Yahoo! homepage offering. Looks like a good way of getting a bunch of RSS feeds for the masses (looks like there is a maximum feed limited for 25 feeds at the moment). And it looks like it supports pinging, so it knows when your blog is updated. For a good run down on this, I’d highly recommend checking out Jeremy Zawodny’s blog entry on the subject.

A little thinking game

Get your head around this!

Just to completely wreck your head here is a little test. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FIRST, then click the link to act out the sequences!! Apparently this is an IQ test given to employees in Japan.

Everybody has to cross the river, but the following RULES apply:

  • Only 2 persons on the raft at a time
  • The father can not stay with any of the daughters without their mother’s presence
  • The mother can not stay with any of the sons without their father’s presence
  • The thief (striped shirt) can not stay alone with any family member
  • Only the Father, the Mother and the Policeman know how to operate the raft
  • When you click on the website, and it opens, click on the blue circle…

Retro-future

Plus Deck
OK, now this is nutty, the PlusDeck, a cassette tape deck for your computer. I guess tragic people who can’t let go of cassette tapes (or think that perhaps its retro-cool or something) will get off on this.

It do such kerrayzee things such as, “records all the sounds from PC onto tape, records MP3 files, and all the internet streaming from PC onto tape, use general cassette audio, play tape on PC/Converting sound from PC into MP3 files”. NO WAY!!!

Lost in Translation

Something I got in an email:

Subway sign

These are signs in japanese metro trains, “Priority seats for…” from left to right:

  1. person with injured arm
  2. person holding a child
  3. pregnant woman
  4. person with injured leg

Mozilla Suite 1.5 beta released

OK, so it’s yesterday’s news. But hey. Mozilla 1.5 beta has been released. This release features lots of bugfixes, the inclusion of a spellchecker for Messenger and Composer, and lots of minor feature improvements to Navigator, Messenger, Composer and Chatzilla. Apparently it fixes GDI issues in Windows, so perhaps now it’ll stop hogging all my system memory. That’d be nice.

Also there is a new build out of Thunderbird. Its the first release candidate for version 0.2 and can be found here.

And over here are some nice new icons for Mozilla Firebird.
