Well, well. After having this broadband service with Telstra Bigpond for a while, Telstra have changed from “perhaps we’ll cap you when you go over 10gig” to “we will cap you when you go over 10gig”. Not super-happy about it, but hey, I was expecting to happen one day. They’re stating that they’ll cap accounts to 64kbps (that’s a small b, so bits). People over at Whirlpool are bitching that they can’t get downloads up to 64kbps, but hey, you’ve gotta remember tcp overhead as well. So far, 64kbps seems ok for checking my emails and general web browsing, although I think alot of this is helped along by my proxy server. I might look into ADSL2 later on in the year when pricing starts to get a little more competitive.
Reported all of the web today is that the so hot right now photo management and sharing website Flickr has been bought by Yahoo! Hopefully not that’ll mean that the incredibly sucky Yahoo! Photos will suck a lot less.
For Rozie’s birthday I bought her a pair of the Adidas Superstar 35th Anniversary Andy Warhol edition. Then on Monday this week I got myself a pair of the Lee Quinones edition Superstars. Love ’em, although a lot of people ain’t feeling it and I have to admit, the whole range didn’t turn out as cool as I was expecting. Photos to come.
A couple of my favourites producers/musicians are hitting Sydney soon. First in is Carl Craig. He’s playing at the Gaelic Club on Saturday 26th March. Then on Saturday 16th April Recloose is djing down at the Basement. Highly recommended for some deeper vibes. Then apparently over the Anzac Long Weekend is my favourite NZ band, Fat Freddy’s Drop a hitting it up.
