Goes to this guy for ripping out the guts of a G5 and putting in some in AMD motherboard.

Weird
Definitely one of the more strange flash animations that I’ve seen in a while. I still can’t quite figure it out. 🙁
Update: OK, I figured it out. Very cute 🙂
Congratulations!!!
Congratulations go out to my big sister Rebecca, who is getting married to her long time boyfriend Chris, who asked her to marry him last week. Don’t stress about Mum and Dad not getting too excited about it, its just the way they are! The immediately families reactions for Rozie and I getting married were pretty low key as well. I remember Rozie’s Mum’s reaction was “That’s nice” and she continued to finish washing the dishes.
When Rebecca and Chris told my parents that they were getting married, Dad’s first reaction was “So Chris, are you going to change the power points in your house from single to double points?”. Admittedly my first reaction when Mum told me was “Yeah, right.” So I shouldn’t talk!
I guess its just a family thing… 😆
Blog update in progress
Yeah, so blah blah blah, I’m in the process of upgrading my blog. So I’ve I’m stuck with this ugly default installed this page layout from Alex King’s site. I’ll be slowly tweaking things over the next few days to something that resembled how things were before, or perhaps something completely new. I don’t mind this new scheme as the colours are quite similiar to my old PSG based blog. I’m pretty sure that the sushi at the top of the screen will have to go though.
Yahoo! RSS beta

Things are on the up and up for RSS this year. Yahoo! have launched an RSS feature in their My Yahoo! homepage offering. Looks like a good way of getting a bunch of RSS feeds for the masses (looks like there is a maximum feed limited for 25 feeds at the moment). And it looks like it supports pinging, so it knows when your blog is updated. For a good run down on this, I’d highly recommend checking out Jeremy Zawodny’s blog entry on the subject.
Digging Gunstar-Red
Now that Deviant Art seems to be working a bit better, I can actually view more of Gunstar-Red’s work. At the moment, I’m totally feeling the gamers series which consists of a US, a UK and a Japanese gamer.
Of questionable taste
GI Joe

Over at Ebaum’s World is a bunch of absolutely hilariously bizarre re-edited GI Joe community service announcements by Eric Fensler. Make sure you check them all out! 😆 I think GI Joe Reggae is my favourite of the bunch.
Edge Retro Edition Cover Artist Gunstar-Red

Recently I purchased volume 3 of the Edge Retro special. I really liked the cover art (being the big fan of pixel art that I am!), which I found out was by Gunstar-Red. He also has a great website over at Army of Trolls.
Liquid Room to shut down
Oh well, guess I’m never going now 🙁
Japan’s world famous nightspot The Liquid Room has closed down after almost a decade of being one of the key venues on the international DJ circuit, DJ Magazine reported this week.
Theo Parrish tickets online
Looks like In The Mix are now selling tickets to the Theo Parrish party for $36. And apparently supporting is Mako and Simon Caldwell.
Roy Ayers special on BBC Radio 1
Over on BBC’s Radio 1, on Giles Peterson’s Worldwide program, there’s currently a great Roy Ayers special to celebrate the release of the ‘Virgin Ubiquity’ album on BBE with the big man himself talking to Giles. And don’t forget, Giles will be in town for the Good Vibrations Festival coming up.
Old posts imported
Thanks to modern technology I was able to import quite a few posts from my old Project Steve Guttenberg based blog into my current WordPress based blog. I can’t believe I’ve actually been blogging (on and off) atleast since July 2002!
Jeff Mills Interview

An interview with Jeff Mills over at absorb.org.
Update: Oh yeah, sorry. Its an old interview (that I hadn’t read before). 😀 Judging by the order of the articles on absorb.org, it’s probably from 2001. Bum.
Yo!!!

Aphex Twin and Luke Vibert

I went with Adam, Nadia and Rozie to see Aphex Twin and Luke Vibert on Tuesday night at the Metro. Personally I loved it. It was a crazy mix of acid house (thanks to Vibert) and all the fun stuff from early 90’s rave music; acid techno, breakbeat, hardcore/gabber and drum ‘n’ bass. Absolutely heaps of 303 noises going on for most of the night. I haven’t heard that acid noises at a party in such a long time. I think for the most part though, big Aphex fans were disappointed the music was too “dancy” and didn’t deliver what he is known for, experimental music. A big thumbs up for me though, as it sounded as though Aphex and Vibert were delivering a custom set for a party, not some sort of noodly experimental electronics music wankfest. Good on them! Perhaps I feel this way as I’m not too attached or sentimental about RDJ, so I was going to be more or less happy with what he delivered.
Cute
A cute comic from Diesel Sweeties on blogs.

Peaches

Last night I caught Peaches at the Hyde Park Barracks. A great show. Perhaps not a great as last time, but that could have been that last time around, I’d never heard of her and didn’t know what to expect. She was so out of leftfield. So much attitude, that I didn’t know what hit me. I still find it amazing that a girl and a drum machine (mostly) can pull off such an awesome show.
